Craig Ashley David [born May 5th 1981 in Holyrood, Southhampton, England, to a Grenadian father and a Jewish-English mother.] is an English RnB singer. His earliest exposure to recording came when he worked on a b-side to British RnB group Damage's cover of the Eric Clapton song 'Wonderful Tonight'. He then started doing vocals for a few tracks with garage act Artful Dodger, of which the song 'Rewind', released off the Artful Dodger album 'It's All About the Stragglers', hit No.2 on the UK charts in 2000, thus paving the way for a solo career. His first single, 'Fill Me In', made him the youngest solo male artist ever to reach No.1 in the UK when he was 19 years old. This was the first of a string of four Top 10 singles from his debut album, 'Born To Do It', which was released the same year and also hit No.1, going on to sell 1.8 million copies.
'Trust Me' is the fourth album by UK RnB artist Craig David, it was released on the 12th of November 2007 and debuted at No.18 in the UK Charts. Recorded in Havana, Cuba with producer Martin Terefe [KT Tunstall, James Morrison] and writer-producer-mixer Fraser T. Smith [Kano, Beyonce, Plan B, Jamelia], the track ‘6 of 1 Thing’ emphasises how Cuban musical culture influenced his new work, whilst the ballad ‘Awkward’ features some of his most evocative lyrics to date. Other highlights include the infectious hook and insistent rhythms of the title track, and ‘She’s On Fire’ which combines sublime bass with Craig’s fluid lyrical flow. ‘Hot Stuff’, released on November 5th 2007, is the first single from the album. It combines Craig David’s wide vocal range with funk-infused beats and a sample of David Bowie’s classic track ‘Let’s Dance’.
