The Chemical Brothers are a Grammy Award winning electronic music duo from England, comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons [occasionally referred to as Chemical Tom and Chemical Ed]. Initially they called themselves "The Dust Brothers", after the noted United States production duo of the same name, but their burgeoning popularity and the threat of legal action from the originals led them to change their name in 1995. Along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method and other lesser-known acts they were pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre, and are known for high-quality live sets.
'Brotherhood' is a compilation double album by The Chemical Brothers, released on September 1st 2008. It is a second compilation spanning the band's greatest hits, after the 2003 'Singles 93-03'. The first record features thirteen hit singles plus the single 'Midnight Madness' [a short version of 'Electronic Battle Weapon 10'] and one new track 'Keep My Composure' [with a guest appearance of the rap group Spank Rock], while the second CD will contain all ten parts of The Chemical Brothers' "Electronic Battle Weapon" series of special mixes, which the duo recorded apart from the regular singles and albums since 1996. 'Brotherhood' was preceded by the digital single 'Midnight Madness', a short version of 'Electronic Battle Weapon 10', released on August 18th 2008, and promoted by the series of live performances in July and August 2008, throughout a number of European countries.
