Description:

'George Harrison / It Is "He" (Jai Sri George) - The Best Of George Harrison (November 29, 200'!

Once again, to commemorate the life of George Harrison, seven years after his passing, this 2CD set - 'It Is "He" (Jai Sri George) - The Best Of George Harrison' was released simultaneously with 'The Complete 'Beatles' Recordings, '63-'70'!  So, if there were ever any doubters as to the relevance of one, Mr. George Harrison's canon of work, then all of that doubt should evaporate into the hot, thin air that it is!  Because, George truly was more than just the 'silent one' in the 'Beatles', the 'crazy, religious one', or, the worst that I have heard, 'nothing without Eric Clapton'!  There aren't many musicians who could amass a best of collection that has more than ten great songs, and yet what YOU now hope to own has more than forty (40)!  So, in the words of another immortal, Casey Kasem, one might call this George's Top 40!  Yes, and there are still some great tunes like 'If Not For You', 'Faster', or some of those rarities that one just knows exists, missing, so one can only hope that Dhani and Olivia will open up the treasure chests some day soon.  In any case, if YOU like this 'best of' be sure to go out and purchase the immaculate box, 'The Dark Horse Years, '76-'92' and the rest of the Harrison catalogue.  - Rick Wilson, former Rock Radio Journalist for Radio Canale Grandé.
