'Diva' is a song by American R&B singer Beyonce Knowles, recorded for her third studio album, 'I Am… Sasha Fierce'. The song has been chosen as official fourth single and was produced by Bangladesh and Sean Garrett. The song was to be released as a single alongside 'Halo' in January, however due to the reception of 'Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It]', it will be released later than 'Halo' on February 10th 2009. Initially, the song charted on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, reaching No.5.
The music video was shot in late November 2008 and directed by Melina Matsoukas, who has worked with Knowles on several music videos. The music video shows many similarities to 'Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It]' in the fact that the video is in black and white, and that Beyonce is wearing another metal glove and doing choreography with two back-up dancers wearing more formal leotards. The video begins with a dictionary description of the word "diva" then cuts to a black and white scene outside in a parking lot with mannequin parts inside the trunk of a Cadillac. Beyonce is seen walking in heels around the car in slow motion with her famed introductions to the dangle shades. Beyonce then walks into a warehouse where she is in a different outfit with two backup dancers. During the second verse Beyonc' switches outfits again and is pulling on two chains. When she states "Diva's gettin' money..." she waves a fan made of $100 bills. etc., etc.
