Hi! After extracting (using the install.exe file) and start the game, i got the message: "unable to get IFileSystem interface from filesystem factory".
What can I do?
1) Extract all files by clicking on the install.exe.
2) Go into Half Life 2 folder (this should be in root C:\) and rename the hl2.exe to hl2-steam-console.exe. Note you do not have to type in ".exe" just add "-steam-console" to the filename and it will work.
the same thing happend to me, i changed the name, downloaded the steam console, and yet an error message comes up saying, the application faild becasue Steam.dll and re-installing the application may fix the problem.what should i do now?
DON'T FOLLOW THE NFO!!! Its more simple then it sounds. Instead of creating a shorcut of the hl2.exe and all that crap, all you have to do is simply double click on the hl2 nonsteam icon (the other icon NOT hl2.exe). Do this after you install and you'll be good to go!
Ok so I managed to install the game but now there is some wierd glitch on the first level where alyx is supposed to go onto an elevator with you but she doesnt so you cant use it either....wow so much for this game. LAME
if you're still reading this....the elevator is a knwon bug...save the game and reload it, then it should work..
any1 knows whether this version supports bsp 20 ?
